NEW 2003 UNLIMITED HYDROPLANE FOR LLUMAR WINDOW FILM
U-8 Racing Team / Bill Wurster announced today the acquisition of the T-4 Two Wing Budweiser Hydroplane built in 1994/95. The boat was first tested on Lake Washington with Chip Hanauer driving. Chip made additional test runs at the Kansas City and Detroit events.
The boat entered its first race in 1995 at the Madison, Indiana event. With Mark Evans as the driver, the T-4 made an impressive debut having the top qualifying speed (160.795) and with three preliminary heat wins. Mark had great chances for a final heat win, but failed to finish the heat due to a rules infraction after hooking the boat while coming out of the first turn.
The T-4 has never entered another race. The brand new futuristic concept T-4 hydroplane was put on the shelf for future development, but that program was never completed. Now this magnificent boat is at the U-8 Racing Team's shop to be further developed and for entry in the 2003 racing events. Look for a bright yellow LLumar Window Film paint scheme.
The previous U-8 LLumar Window Film Hydroplane is being serviced and will be race ready as the back up boat.
Look for additional information as this project unfolds. Updates and testing dates will be announced.
