CANADIAN Grand Prix Boat Racer, JEAN THEORET
to drive U-8 "LLumar Window Film" Unlimited Hydroplane
Seattle, WA :
Colors will be the same, but look for a couple substantial design changes and other modifications that will be difficult to spot. Never the less, all together, the LLumar is expected to improve its performance substantially in 2005.
In 2002 Bill Wurster/U-8 Race Team acquired the T-4 two wing Budweiser Hydroplane built in 1994/95. The boat entered its first race in 1995 at Madison, Indiana with Mark Evans as the driver. The T-4 made an impressive debut having the top qualifying speed (160.795). With three preliminary heat wins, Mark had great chances for the final heat win, but failed to finish the final heat due to a race infraction after hooking the boat while coming ont of the first turn.
The T-4 had never entered another race under the sponsorship of Budweiser. This brand new futuristic concept T-4 Hydroplane was put on the shelf for future development but that program was never completed.
Now this magnificent boat has been redesigned and developed into what is know as the new LLumar Window Film T-4 Hydroplane.
Mark Evans scored the LLumar T-4's first win at the 2003 Tri-City Columbia Cup race. 2005 marks a new level playing field for Unlimited Hydroplane competition. Under the new leadership of the American Boat Racing Association (ABRA), expect the best competitive boat racing America has ever see.
February, 2005
Nashville is the location of a new race site. ABRA announced that the Country and Bluegrass State is about to rock and roll with the sound of Hydroplanes. Visit the Nashville site to learn more about this spectacular new site.
