Seattle, Washington: Bill Wurster's U-8 LLumar Window Film Unlimited Hydroplane Racing Team will proudly fly the color of the United States Air Force 336th Fighter Squadron for the 2003 racing season. Recognizing the sacrifices being made all over the world by the men and women of our Armed Forces, the team will be expressing our thanks every time the bright yellow hydroplane takes to the water this summer.

Dubbed the 'Rocketeers', the 336th Fighter Squadron utilizes the Boeing F-15E "Strike Eagle", a state-of -the-art, all-weather fighter-bomber. Based out of Seymour-Johnson Air Force Base in Goldsboro, North Carolina, the 'Rocketeers' are currently deployed overseas in support of Operation Southern Watch and Operation Iraqi Freedom.

U-8 Racing Team crewmember Brad Haskin, a former Navy pilot and Gulf veteran, has a brother flying now with the 336th. "I've been over there myself, and I completely understand what they are going through. It's not about whether you are for or against what's going on in the world-it's understanding that freedom is never free, and letting our troops know that we support them We just want everyone to take care of business and come home safely".

Although the U-8 Racing Team carry only the colors of the Air Force 336th Squadron, it is done in the spirit of honoring all of our Armed Forces --Army, Navy, Air Force, Marines, Coast Guard and reserve units.

Race fans...its 10 to the 5...and Evans will drive!

Seattle, Washington: Former BUDWEISER driver, Mark Evans will drive Bill Wurster's new T-4 unlimited hydroplane for the 2003-racing season. This entry will be a strong contender and is expected to add excitement and close competition to the Hydro-prop series.

Mark Evans: Redmond, WA Evans comes with 9 race wins to his credit driving for teams including Bernie Little's U-1 Miss Budweiser and Fred Leland's Pico American Dream. He also drove the American Spirit, Miss Exide and Miss Elam Plus. In 1997 driving the Pico American Dream, Mark had 4 strait wins. His most famous win was his "Flip and Win" at Seattle Seafair where the boat flipped in a preliminary heat and came back to win the final. Mark's humorous antics and great personality landed him the position of race commentator for ESPN's 2001-2002 coverage of the Hydro-prop racing season.

Mark comes from a racing family. He began his racing career at the early age of just thirteen. His father Norm Evans drove in the 1960's and his brother Mitch Evans has been his rival " partner in crime" driving in the now new hull of Vacatonville.com. Mitch set a Allison "piston powered "unlimited hydroplane record at last year's San Diego race. He had the top qualifying speed at 160.095 mph (faster than any turbine powered boat at that event).

Both Mark Evans and Mitch Evans are confident they can win the 2003 Detroit "Gold Cup" race. Mitch because of the record speeds they have been setting with their new boat and Mark because of his confidence in Bill Wurster's new contemporary T-4 hydroplane design and this upgraded engine and drive train program. Neither of the Evans brothers has won the Gold Cup and the rivalry has just begun!
